What's New

A sponsor has in 2006 funded a major upgrading of the cooking, washing and dormitory accommodation at the Blind School, with the provision of new beds lockers and winter bedclothes

October 2006
We supported our first advanced course in massage and acupressure in Hanoi this summer. This has proved very popular with the senior High School and university students as a physical alternative to their textbooks. It has also enabled them to supplement their incomes. This is easier for the boys who can go into the clients' homes but needs special arrangements for the girls as we have managed for Minh.

This year Dat became our first university graduate and Hien, we believe, the first woman undergraduate in North Vietnam, entirely Vietnamese tutored. She found her studies quite a strain but with careful counselling by Mrs Minh Phuoc has managed to get going again with good marks from her tutors.
