The Gordon Barclay Vietnam Fund (GBVF) is a charitable organisation
whose mission is to relieve poverty and suffering in South-East
Asia. While our work around South-East Asia has been wide and varied,
most of it has been in Vietnam, latterly with visually impaired and
blind children.
In Vietnam there are 600,000 visually impaired people, many of whom are children.
While there is no official government policy about integrating children with sensory
disabilities, many have attended kindergarten and primary
schools. People used to believe that it was impractical to educate visually
impaired children beyond this point.
GBVF has challenged this view. Over the last few years we have
helped many of these blind or visually impaired children into mainstream
secondary schools, and even university.

new section.
